Hand Embroidered Juttis for Women

An embroidered jutti is a handmade leather Punjabi shoe finished with thread, sequin or bead work stitched by hand — not printed, not machine-run. Weaving Threads designs every pair in-house in Delhi, then our artisans embroider the upper onto a cushioned leather base you can wear to work, a wedding, or a weekday kurta.

What is an embroidered jutti?

Every embroidered jutti in this collection is worked by hand, one stitch at a time, on genuine leather. The embroidery is where the difference shows: thread work in fine silk floss, sequin and bead detailing, dabka and katdana for weddings, and pearl or moti work for softer everyday pairs.

Our artisans in Delhi finish each pair individually, so no two are identical. A dense floral panel can take a full day of embroidery before the upper is even stitched to the sole. That is why the surface has depth you can feel: raised threadwork, not a printed or machine-run pattern.

The base is soft leather with a cushioned insole, so a new pair breaks in within a few wears rather than fighting you. Sizes run UK 3 to UK 8. If you are between sizes, take the smaller one, as juttis relax slightly with wear.

Embroidered juttis suit mehendi, sangeet and reception dressing, but the quieter thread-work pairs sit just as well with a kurta on an ordinary weekday. Prices start at Rs. 1,550, and every pair ships free across India.

When to wear embroidered juttis

  • Everyday kurtas, office and college — choose lighter thread-work pairs.
  • Mehendi and sangeet — denser floral, sequin or bead embroidery.
  • Reception and festive evenings — dabka, katdana or pearl work with lehengas and suits.

Common questions

What is an embroidered jutti?

An embroidered jutti is a traditional closed-toe Indian shoe whose leather upper is decorated with hand embroidery — silk thread, sequins, beads, dabka or pearls. Weaving Threads designs each pair in-house and has artisans in Delhi stitch the work by hand, so the pattern is raised, not printed.

Are embroidered juttis comfortable for everyday wear?

Yes. Our embroidered juttis are made in genuine leather with a soft cushioned insole. Quieter thread-work designs are made for daily kurtas, office and college; heavier sequin or dabka pairs are better for functions. A new pair typically eases within a few wears.

How is an embroidered jutti different from mukaish or tilla?

Embroidered juttis use thread, sequins and beads. Mukaish juttis use tiny flattened metal strips (also called badla). Tilla juttis use couched gold-colour metallic thread. Embroidery is the most versatile of the three for both everyday and festive dressing.

How should I care for hand embroidered juttis?

Wipe the leather with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid soaking, machine washing, or harsh cleaners, which can loosen thread and beads. Store them in the bag they arrive in, away from direct sun and moisture. Each product page also lists care notes for that specific finish.

What sizes do embroidered juttis come in?

We stock UK 3 to UK 8. Order your usual UK size. If your feet are narrow at the front, go one size down; if they are broad, stay with the size you wear in shoes or slippers. A size chart is on every product page.
