Office Wear Juttis

Juttis for work: genuine leather uppers in tan, brown and bronze, with mukaish metal thread and stud work kept deliberately restrained. Neutral enough for a workday, still handmade rather than mass-produced.

Office-appropriate comes down to two things. First, tone - these are earth and metal neutrals that sit under a kurta, palazzo or trousers without announcing themselves. Second, construction - a leather upper softens to the shape of your foot over the first week, and a flat hand-stitched sole with a cushioned footbed handles a full day on your feet in a way an embellished fabric pair does not.

Mukaish work is the quiet craft in our range: fine gold or silver metal thread pressed into leather in grids, lattices and small florals, so the detail is visible up close and understated from across a room. Every pair here is Rs 1,350.

Every pair is made in our own workshop and finished by hand: a soft leather lining, a hand-stitched flat leather sole and a cushioned footbed, with no left or right foot so the pair shapes to you over the first few wears. Sizes 35 to 41. Designed in-house by a family that has been making juttis for over eight years, with a store at Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi.
